52nd Annual Spring Conference, Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, VA
Dates: Sunday - Tuesday, April 23-25, 2017
Conference Committee Chair: Rosemary Martin, University of Maryland, College Park
The Conference Planning Committee provides vital support to the Conference Chair. As a volunteer organization, PCACAC relies on its members to accomplish its mission! Thank you to Rosemary and the Conference Planning Committee for all the work going on right now. If you would like to help out, email Rosemary directly or call 434-989-7557.
The Conference Planning Committee continues to work diligently to plan events you may have attended in the past and are looking forward to once again. We need you to do your part – register! See the sessions that are lined up for the conference and download a copy with this link. Most sessions take place Monday, April 24th; however, the Pre-Conference Equity Collaborative workshop topics (April 22-23) as well as the opening (April 23) and closing (April 25) sessions are summarized in this document as well.
A full conference registration includes sessions, meals, a conference social, exhibits, admission to the Counselors College Fair (exhibiting is extra), and covers all events from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday. Access the Conference-at-a-Glance and Registration Fees & Details for more information about the schedule and costs associated with particular events. Register online by completing the Conference Registration Form for both individual registrations or for a group of PCACAC members from the same institution. Registration is open through Monday, April 10, 2016. We do not offer on-site registration.
Lodging is separate and is the responsibility of each conference participant. Contact the reservations specialists at the Kingsmill Resort directly at 800-832-5665 to reserve a guestroom.
NEW THIS YEAR!
PCACAC Equity Collaborative Pre-Conference Workshop - Thank you to William & Mary for hosting!
PCACAC invites you to join us before the conference for the Potomac and Chesapeake Admission Counselors Equity Collaborative. The collaborative is an interactive pre-conference workshop for the discussion of diversity, equity, and inclusive practices in college admission and counseling. Here counselors and college admission officers will come together to engage in conversations that build multicultural literacy and will share best practices for advancing our profession, specifically focusing on issues that affect historically underserved and marginalized communities. Discussions at the pre-conference workshop are relevant for all members of the college admission community. Join us for the workshop and the conference for one low registration fee. If you can only attend the pre-conference workshop, bring a coworker and save on both registrations.
For more information regarding the workshop topics and facilitators, download the PCACAC Equity Collaborative Workshop Program with this link. Information regarding fees and registration can be downloaded here. Register for the pre-conference workshop early - attendance is limited to 40 participants. A significant discount is available for those that want to attend both the conference and the pre-conference workshop. However, attendance to both events is not required.
The pre-conference workshop is a great experience for coworkers to attend together. For this reason, a discount will be applied to the cost to attend the workshop when two or more individuals from the same institution register together. This discount does not apply to the conference registration fees. For more information regarding the discount for two or more coworkers, contact PCACAC's Executive Assistant at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lodging is separate and is the responsibility of each pre-conference workshop participant. Contact the reservations specialists at the Kingsmill Resort directly at 800-832-5665 to reserve a guestroom.
PCACAC wants to thank its sponsors for the 52nd Annual Conference
If you attended PCACAC’s conferences in the past, you were a witness to the amazing things that partnering with PCACAC can do to support those who work with students in the transition between high school and college. Contributions received helped to fund programs like our Marion Flagg Scholarship Program, the Student Support Grant, and the Local Counselor Sponsorship program. Partnering provided opportunities for our colleagues, both new and veteran, to expand their networks and educate one another while continuing to ensure PCACAC’s fiscal health. This feat could have never been accomplished without your personal and institutional investments in the mission of PCACAC. To sponsor either the Student Support Grant or the Local Counselor Sponsorship program again click on the links provided in this paragraph. To sponsor conference events or the Marion Flagg Scholarship program go directly to the Sponsorship and Contribution Form.
Thank you to those that have supported PCACAC and it programs and services for college admission professionals in the past, especially those that have supported the annual conference.
